Artificial intelligence, also known as AI, is one of the fastest growing topics within technology and is expected to change our daily lives immensely over the next couple of decades.
In fact, “Google Alphabet’s Director of Engineering Ray Kurzweil predicts machines will be smarter than humans by the year 2029.”
AND “Gartner research estimates that AI bots will power 85% of customer service interactions by 2020.”
While several commerce marketing software says it uses AI, it can be hard to tell if they do or not. AI systems are made to think and behave on their own without human interaction. Whereas humans make decisions with the assistance of software in rule-based decision-making, the software makes decisions without the interaction of humans in artificial intelligence.
To distinguish between whether a vendor’s use of AI will add value to your business, ask yourself these questions:
- How will this feature or solution generate revenue for my business?
- What’s required of me when I use your features that run on artificial intelligence?
- How does your solution allow me to set my own course?
- How integrated are the features in your solution that use artificial intelligence?
