Many organizations are going through data transformation (DX) and it is preferred to pair the system with software-defined wide area networks (SD-WAN), although it presents many problems during transformation such as security risks, especially at remote locations.

Traditional WANs employ a multiprotocol label switching (MPLS)-based network to handle the increase in velocity and traffic which reroutes the traffic through corporate data center causing clogging and slowing of data flow within the network. The MPLS themselves aren’t cheap and the cost can compile.

The decision of which SD-WAN to use depends upon the quality of security, performance, the total cost of ownership (TCO) and resources that the network provides.
